Meet Our Staff

As of May 2008, DSI employs over 60 people including employees and subcontractors.  Due to the diversity of the product line the company has employed talented and versatile people.  To familiarize you with some of he key staff members, individual biographies are listed below.

Eddie Burgess, President

Mr. Burgess has over twenty eight years experience in the design, manufacturing, service, installation, sales and marketing of machinery for the Automotive, Textile, Non-Woven, Film, Paper, and Plastics Industry.  He has also traveled extensively internationally while establishing worldwide sales agencies and markets.  Since founding Diversified Systems in 1990, he has been and is actively involved in its day to day operations as well as customer relations.  Over the years he has developed several products that resulted in obtaining U.S. Patents and many others that have improved the quality of products while reducing labor costs and waste.  He has held several board positions with various companies over these years as well as having steered various committees for the Secretary of State of South Carolina.  He also has involvement in several professional affiliations. 

 Murray Davis

Mr. Davis is our Sales Engineer.  He has over 35 years experience in the textile industry.  His expertise lie in the nonwoven sector of the industry.  He has designed, mentored and assisted his customers with automated their productivity over the years.  He brings a large customer base with him from his previous employment.  His knowledge lies in railway sewing systems, rolls, conveyors and any type of integrated machinery.  Mr. Davis joined us in the beginning of 2008.

 Carrie Medlin 

Carrie is our Controller responsible for the financial operations of the company.She oversees the accounts receivable & payable, payroll, inventory valuation reporting, treasury, budgeting and month end /year end financial reporting. In addition Carrie’s responsibilities have increased to overseeing production control and assisting with customer quoting and purchasing.  Carrie is a graduate of Clemson University and has a BS degree in accounting. She has 13 years plus experience in accounting and business financial management prior to joining DSI. She has been with the company for over 7 years.

 Michael Greene

Mike is the Chief Mechanical Engineer.  He has over 33 years experience in machinery and system design.  He is responsible for overseeing the engineering department and designing certain machines.  He has been with the company for over 13 years.

Bobby Quick

Mr. Quick is the electrical engineering manager and designer.  He also is involved in the installation of our machinery and manufacturing systems.  He has produced many designs for machines DSI has supplied.  He has been with the company for over 15 years.

Juan McCoy

Juan is the Purchasing Manager.  Juan is the Purchasing agent and is responsible for planning, coordinating and projecting production and delivery.  He has been with the company for 13 years.  Juan’s background includes many years in the machining industry.  He is a master machinist.

 Kenneth W. Herman

Ken has over thirty-seven years experience in design and manufacturing of machinery for the Textile and other Industries.  His background includes being President of Sherman Machinery, Inc., manufacturer of coating and web-handling equipment, Operations Manager for Winsor & Jerauld, manufacturers of tenter frames & coating machinery, and Vice President of Entec Industries, manufacturer of web-handling equipment.  He has been with the company for over 10 years. 

Vic McCoy

Mr. McCoy is our Vice President of Manufacturing and structural steel division at DSI.  He has over 27 years experience in the structural steel industry including commercial and industrial building.   In addition, Vic has experience in the fabrication and erection of other building components such as mezzanines, stairs, handrails, and ladders.  Additionally, under Vic’s management is a full staff of steel erectors, riggers and millwrights.  Vic has been with the company for over 7 years. 

Bob Tate

Mr. Tate is our Senior Estimator and Project Manager for our Structural Steel Division.  He has over 25 years in the steel industry.  His expertise lie in design and build, estimating, overseeing of projects both fabrication and erection, negotioations and detailing.  He has newly joined our DSI team.

Michael Johnson

Mr. Johnson is our plant manager at DSI.  He has over 30 years of experience in the machining and textile industry.  Michael has extensive knowledge in blueprint reading, parts analysis and the overall running of a production shop.  His priorities are insuring quality and delivery to our customers.

Frank Babb

Mr. Babb has over 35 years experience in design engineering.  His main expertise lies in finishing machinery including tenter frames.  He has worked with chain and tenter frame rebuilding, repairing and new designs for enhancing fabric production.

John Mickle

John Mickle has over 35 years experience in mechanical design engineering domestically and over 5 years experience in engineering the full plant process of a plant internationally in San Antigo, Chile.  His expertise lies in the design of textile, nonwovens, and pick-n-place machinery. 

Marion Moore

Marion Moore has over 25 years experience in mechanical engineering.  His expertise lie in conveyors, winders and accumulators.

Alan Sheridan

Alan Sheridan has over 20 years experience in electrical engineering.  His expertise lie in designing electrical schematics and diagrams.  He is knowledgeable in Allen Bradley and Siemens electrical parts.

Roger Poole

Roger Poole has over 15 years in programming and code logic.  He has worked for many prestigious programming firms and is knowledgeable of many levels of Siemens, Control Logic and Allen Bradley.  He has written programs and designed

new control systems for many large manufacturing facilities such as Milliken.

Bill Miller

Bill has over 35 years experience in both mechanical engineering and project management from conception to completion in various industries including pharmaceutical, automotive, industrial, residential, and construction.  He has held positions such as Senior Project Manager and Operations Manager with large engineering firms and is also owner of a small construction company.

Joey Evans

Joey has over 10 years experience in the machinery industry ranging from machine operator to brainstorming and isolating issues in process operations.  He also has experience in the structural steel fabrication and construction industry as a blueprint reader and fabricator of high end machinery.  In addition, Joey is proficient in project managing and estimating for construction bidding and projects

Charles Dickson

Charles Dickson has over 20 years experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering.  He has a BS degree in business and engineering design.  His main expertise lies in automation, machinery design and controls. 

Norris Carter

Norris Carter has over 15 years experience in electrical engineering.  His expertise lie in the programming, installation and start up of machinery.  His knowledge includes the programming logic of Siemens Step 7 and Allen Bradley.  Mr. Carter has been with DSI for 2 years.

Barry Garrett

Barry Garrett has over 15 years experience in all types of programming logic for automated machinery.  He has expertise in the programming logic for Siemens, Allen Bradley and all types of Servo based applications.  He has been with DSI for 1 year. 

Harold Yoder

Harold Yoder has been in the tenter chain and frame industry for over 27 years.  His expertise lie in the installation and the repair of all types of tenters.  Additionally, he has expertise in ovens.  He has traveled all over the world and has many years experience and knowledge of this product.  Harold has just recently joined our team at DSI and we are excited about the growth potentials in the tenter facet of the business.

Gary Cooper

Gary Cooper has been installing and repairing tenter chain, frames and ovens for over 25 years.  Along with Harold, he has been all over the world and has many years knowledge on operation of all different types of tenters.  Likewise, Gary has just recently joined our team at DSI. 

RhondaPitt

Rhonda is the assistant to the President of the company, and Administrative Assistant. She also manages human resources.  Rhonda has over 12 years experience in human resources.  She has expertise in labor laws and employee benefits.  She has been with the company for over 8 years.

Production Staff

Our production staff is made up of various labor men who specialize in the fabrication, erection, servicing, machining, painting, and assembling of our machinery.  We have approximately 35 production employees whose experience is a combined total of a few hundred years of expertise in the production of manufacturing machinery.  In addition, we have a quality control supervisor whose job is to ensure all of our products that are made in our plant are made to specification. 

Drew Konnerth

Drew is a professional engineer, sales agent and consultant with DSI.  Drew represents DSI in the Northeast Region of the United States.  Drew brings a valuable resource of engineering knowledge and numerous years in the manufacturing arena.  Additionally, Drew has acted as lead engineer on several projects.  In addition, Drew acts as a liaison for DSI and our customers.  His expertise lies in web handling machinery.
